What is Salajeet

Salajeet is the Urdu name for herbo-mineral Shilajit. It is obtained as concentrated plant matter from ancient plants that were found trapped in mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Salajeet oozes out from the rocks as a tar-like substance during the summer season. It contains abundant minerals that make it beneficial for bone, muscle and tissue growth. In 1870, an Englishman observed some monkeys in the Himalayan region who were feeding this herbo-mineral were not bald at 10 years of age as compared to other monkeys in the plains.
